Description

Chess is a game with a lot of benefits such as developing patience, concentration, discipline, planning, decision making, mental exercise & many more. It not only teaches kids on how to become a better player, but also how to take a strategic approach to life’s challenges. 

Beyond academic benefits it also enhances the tactical mindset of children which helps in improving their motivation, character, leadership abilities & many more. The students who learn chess develop spatial skills & have shown marked increase in IQ, memory, concentration and problem solving skills. 

This chess course will introduce learners to the intermediate aspects of chess game. Apart from introducing strategies and plans in chess, the lessons will focus on :

1) 4 - Move checkmate/Scholar’s mate.

2) Opening principles to play better chess.

3) Getting to know tactics and tricks in chess to win quickly.

4) Getting to know strategies & plans.

5) Elementary Checkmate : One Rook Checkmate.

Session 1 : Learn 4 - Move checkmate/Scholar’s mate ->How to play

Objective: In this Session students will learn in how to play 4 - Move checkmate/Scholar’s mate.

Session 2 : Learn 4 - Move checkmate/Scholar’s mate ->How to defend

Objective : In this Session students will learn in how to defend - Move checkmate/Scholar’s mate.

 Session 3 : Getting to know assisted checkmate.

Objective : Students will get to know assisted checkmate and how it helps to win quickly.

Session 4 : Opening principles in Chess.

Objective : Students will get to know the phases of chess games, opening principles(Control the center & Develop chessmen)

Session 5 : Opening principles in Chess.

Objective: Students will get to know opening principles(Protect king/castle early, interconnect rooks & develop major pieces)

 Session 6 : 3 Steps to play better chess.

 Objective : Students will get to know 3 simple steps(Get your chessmen out, get good exchanges and do simple checkmates) to play better chess and convert an advantage game to win.

Session 7 : Introduction to tactics and tricks in chess.

Objective : Students will get to know what is tactics and tricks in chess and how to use efficiently to win in real chess games.

Session 8 : Tactics - More attackers than defenders.

Objective : Students will get to know what is more attackers than defenders, its elements and how to use it to win chess games.

Session 9 : Tactics - Forks/double attacks

Objective : Students will get to know what is forks/double attacks, its elements and how to use it to win chess games.

Session 10 : Elementary Checkmate : One Rook Checkmate.

Objective : Students will get to know Elementary Checkmate -> One Rook Checkmate step by step.

Session 11 : Revision of Elementary Checkmate : One Rook Checkmate & playing session

Objective : Revision of Elementary Checkmate -> One Rook Checkmate step by step will be done. And students will have playing session.

 Session 12 : Recap of Intermediate Level 1 Chess course.

 Objective : Complete recap of the Intermediate Level 1 Chess course will be done. Learners will answer, ask doubts/query, share chess concepts learned and solve/practice chess puzzles.

Learning resources & tools and system :

Students will engage and interact through interactive videos, live explanations, test examples, workouts and puzzle sections throughout the classes to make learning fun and easy for kids.

External Resources :

From the Learner's end there are no such app/ websites requirements. From Trainers end, we use chess.com or Lichess.org to train the students and solve/practice chess puzzles.

About Chess Instructor :

I am ANKESH VASHISHTHA national amateur silver medalist🥈(B-1700 cat.) 2018 and recently represented India🇮🇳 in Commonwealth Chess Championship 2019

I am enthusiastic chess player and passionate chess coach. My mission is to make chess knowledge viral and create enthusiasm for chess learning. Having more than 6 years of chess coaching experience helped many students win competitive level chess tournaments.

Some talents groomed under my Professional Chess Coaching are

• One of them became International Rated Chess Player and Commonwealth Under-8 Girl Silver medalist 🥈 in 2019

She also achieved a rank in top 20 at the National Under-7 Girl Chess Championship 2017 in just 5 months of professional chess training

And best U-13 girl in many international and national chess tournaments
