Let’s make August festive and creative — the Enthuziastic way!

Cultural Rhythms

Cultural Rhythms highlight the beauty of diverse traditions—festivals, pujas, and the joy of celebrating Independence Day.
Each tradition may look different, yet together they show the true spirit of unity in diversity, where culture, faith, and celebration blend in harmony.

Varlakshmi Puja

It is done in the month of Sravana masam, 2nd Friday, Actually, every Friday of this Telugu month is very auspicious, especially second Friday. We will do puja to gold and money. We will make many varieties of foods such as pulihora, burelu, garelu, adidhi, gilli gajjalu etc. Today, every women take blessings from her husband and tie a yellow thread (kankanam which includes flowers and 9 knots). We will keep a saree in front of the idol and wear the same saree in the evening and go to temple.

Here, newly married women will go to mother's home in the month of Ashada. So, this is the first festival for them to celebrate in in-law's home. Generally, we buy small gold coin of Lakshmi Devi and at the end of puja, we will include that coin in Mangalsutra.
